CITIES INTRODUCTION - Zhaoqing
The national scenic spots Seven Star Crags and Dinghu Mountain, which are exalted the heaven on earth and the emerald on the Tropic of Cancer, seem to be faraway paradises. But are they? They indeed rest in the close by, over 2,200-year-old City of Zhaoqing in the Greater Bay Area.
Occupying 30% of the total area in the Greater Bay Area, Zhaoqing is the largest city in the region. It has a comprehensive integrated transportation system intersecting with one urban rail, two high-speed rails, seven highways, and one golden waterway. The system forms a one-hour Greater Bay Area and 30-min Guangzhou-Foshan-Zhaoqing travel circles.
In five years, Zhaoqing plans to build three industry clusters that are worth over 100 billion dollars: new energy automobiles, advanced equipment manufacturing, and energy-saving and environment protection. The city also endeavours to realise digitisation and foster internet and government service platforms to create a fair, transparent, highly efficient, and quality business environment. Talent cultivation is also a high priority of the city. The Guangning County Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Base, established in 2017, supports young people who wish to start their businesses.
