cities introduction - dongguan

Dongguan, which accounts for the production of the world's one-fifth of smartphones, is undoubtedly a renowned manufacturing base. Situated on the eastern coast of the Greater Bay Area, the city has over 30 manufacturing industries and produces more than 60,000 products. It actively realises its six major reform projects: Improving the city environment, expanding its capacity, increasing its productivity, strengthening its grassroots capability, bringing benefits to its residents, and Intensifying the reform.

The city aspires to develop into an advanced manufacturing centre of the Greater Bay Area to strengthen its functionality in three aspects:  transformation of scientific and technological achievements, expansion of cooperation, and improvement of quality-life service. It is joining hands with Shenzhen and Hong Kong to build a comprehensive national science centre, which comprises development platforms such as the 53.3 sq. km Neutron Science City and 83.2 sq. km Dongguan Binhaiwan New District. 

In 2018, Dongguan established the Guangdong-Hong Kong Youth Entrepreneurship Incubation (Guancheng) Base to attract young people from Dongguan and Hong Kong to innovate and start a business by adopting a 'Base + Fund' model. The Base provides a comfortable work environment, talent service, policy consultation, financial venture capital, achievement transformation, and resources matching.
